Approach

Feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of your next step? You don’t have to face it alone.

I help teens, young adults, and adults move through anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and life transitions with a mind–body–spirit approach. Using Accelerated Resolution Therapy (A.R.T.), Impact Therapy, and other integrative techniques and theories, I can help guide clients toward healing, growth, and thriving—on their own terms.

I also take all major insurances.

Theories

I’m a licensed counselor helping teens, young adults, and adults work through anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and major life transitions. My approach combines real-world experience with evidence-based therapy so you feel understood, supported, and equipped with practical tools you can use outside of our sessions.

I earned my master’s degree in counseling from UTSA and began my career as a school counselor. After seven years in that role, I founded Consulting By Michelle, PLLC in 2020 to provide mental health care that is compassionate, approachable, and accessible.

When I’m not in session, you can usually find me hiking, cooking, spinning records, or exploring art.

Services

Individual Sessions

In your first session, we’ll get to know you—your experiences, strengths, and goals—to create a plan that fits your needs. Follow-up sessions focus on support, practical tools, and strategies to help you grow and navigate life’s challenges.

Group Sessions

Group sessions offer a supportive space to connect, share, and learn practical tools while growing alongside others facing similar challenges.

Public Speaking

I speak on mental health, non-suicidal self-harm, and personal growth, sharing experiences from school counseling, walking the Camino, and community events with audiences of all ages.

What Is A.R.T.?

Accelerated Resolution Therapy®(ART) is a brief, structured form of psychotherapy that helps people process distressing memories and symptoms by changing how those memories are stored in the brain. ART removes triggers by erasing negative images from view. ART uses guided eye movements and visualization techniques to reduce emotional and physical reactions to past experiences while allowing you to stay fully in control. Many clients report significant relief in just a few sessions. Trauma and many other issues can often be resolved in just one session.
